A long-established sawmill group manufacturing high-quality timber product install their 7th Super Blower dust extraction and filtration system.  This system will serve their high-speed planer line running at a feed speed of over 200m/min.  A type JA235 high efficiency cyclone as a pre separator intercepts approx. 95% of the shavings direct to road trailers with approx. 5% of the smaller particulate/dust discharging to a type SB90-5.0 filter unit. Shavings are automatically loaded into a 3 Bay trailer loading system. The system was pre-assembled on site and craned into its final position over a weekend to ensure minimum production disruption for the customer.

The project was managed by Indusvent’s Scottish office based in Grangemouth.

The operating performance of the system easily meets the current production 16 hours a day 5 days a week the customer had a strict requirement for a system that would provide reliability, low energy consumption and low cost of ownership.

The Super-Blower system has proven to be 58% more energy efficient in terms of power consumption than a traditional positive pressure extraction system.

This system is fully Atex compliant and includes Vertical Flameless Explosion Venting (VFV)
It is also equipped with moisture repellent filter media and mechanical scraper discharger for handling sawdust with a moisture content above 24%. This system is installed with Power Pulse cleaning ensuring the antistatic filter media stays cleaner for longer.
